Fostering Friday
All you need is spare time and a short period in your timetable and huge doses of love!
SPCA receives approximately 1,000 canines and felines and due to lack of space, 90% are humanely put down but we can't be doing this forever... it is not the answer! So, we are looking for foster homes to care for the young, orpaned, sick or injured pups, dogs, kittens and cats. Once they are well, we will look for homes for them. |

Interested in being a paws volunteer?
You can choose to spend time with any animals that you want and do the work that you enjoy. Even if you only stay an hour or a whole day it is still helpful for the animals. There are various types of jobs to be done, ideas of what to do are listed according to the animal.

No Kill for 2010
SPCA has a vision, a vision that owners will take more responsibility for their companion animals and that less and less animals will be surrendered and less strays will be brought to the SPCA Animal Home in Ampang Jaya. In order for this vision to become a reality the public have a large role to play, within their own homes and places of work we need the public to recognize their responsibilities to the animals around them. |

Your Part! Help Us Save "Belum-Temengor"
Belum-Temengor - a rolling landscape of tropical rainforest surrounding
a massive lake. Situated at the border of Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand,
this 300,000 hectares of virgin tropical rainforest is a biodiversity hotspot
and a national if not an international heritage. It has been around for more
than 130 million years, which makes it older than the Amazon and the Congo. It
is home to thousands of species, some found nowhere else in the world. But this
magnificent gift from mother earth is facing one of her greatest threats
Logging. |
Doing the extraordinary in the ordinary
(Wo)man on the Street
Walk up to the man-on the-street (or in the case of today’s more politically-correct era: woman-on-the-street), and quiz them for a spontaneous response to the word “environment”, some of the common thoughts and words that are most likely to be spewed are: tree-huggers, placards, Greenpeace, pandas, elephants, extinction, forests, peaceful demonstrations, and the list goes on. |
